We've been down in Alabama for over a week now, and so far we've juiced a total of: 72 carrots (about four 1 lb. bags), 16 apples (about 2 bags), 8 large cucumbers, 6 sweet potatoes, 6 bananas, 2 bags of grapes, 2 cartons of strawberries, 2 avocados, 2 peaches, 1 turnip, 1 full stalk of celery, 1 full head of broccoli, 1/4 head of lettuce (to try it out), 1/4 head of red cabbage (tasted great!), and a few handfuls of spinach.
Except for one glass, every drink has been pretty tasty! Experimenting with different fruits and veggies has led us to make better juices and fantastic smoothies. Papa enjoys the juices, and Ninny is getting used to the tastes. She seems reluctant to be enthusiastic about juicing, but I attribute that to her taste buds and not her willpower. I know without a doubt that within 6 months Ninny will be down at least 50 lbs. She hasn't seen any progress yet, but that's normal. I'd say about a month in she'll be noticing! If she can lose just 15 lbs., she can cut her knee pain in half! I believe with ALL my heart that my grandparents will not only improve their health, but also continue to love for years to come. Sometimes I imagine how happy we will all be when my entire family is on vacation together and my grandparents are still around to see their great-grandchildren grow up!
"Imagination is the beginning of creation. You imagine what you desire, you will what you imagine, and at last, you create what you will." - George Bernard Shaw
Welcome to my world, where the glass is always half full and spirits are high. Life's too short to sweat the small stuff- it's just a minor thing. Bad news comes, don't you worry even when it lands good news will work its way to all them plans. Even if things end up a bit too heavy, we'll all float on. Things turn out best for the people who make the best of how things turn out.

Juicing!
On Sunday we moved down to AL to live with my grandparents. It's wonderful to spend more time with my grandparents, and also help them achieve better health through juicing. We started off small, with just about a shot's worth of veggie juice for Ninny and a small glass for Papa. Since Ninny hasn't really ever drank anything except milk and water, drinking 5 vegetables at one time is quite a punch for her to swallow. Her faces make it look like she's just had a spoonful of ipecac, ha ha. Of course drinking vegetables can take some getting used to, but mind over matter, it's the healthiest thing you can do for yourself!
Starting off small on Sunday and Monday, we juiced 4 carrots & 2 green apples into 1 drink per person. On Tuesday, we began to juice full size glasses. We used what we had in the crisper and made even healthier drinks with 3 stalks of celery, 3-4 carrots, 1 tomato, and 1 red apple into 1 drink per person. I also added some green grapes and 1 green apple into Ninny's drink to add some sweetness for her. And today on day 4, we juiced 2 large cucumbers, 8 stalks of celery, 12 carrots, 1/4 head of lettuce, 40 grapes and 2 peaches into 4 delicious drinks.
We may not see physical results yet, but we all weighed ourselves today and will keep track of the progress! I believe juicing is already helping Papa with his memory- he remembered his doctor's appointment today! With more nutrients comes more memory! It's wonderful to feel our physical and mental health improve more and more every day! Here's to your health, everyone!
